WHO I AM
My name is Ashley DeNardo, and I love to write and help people.
I was born in Philly, but I moved around a lot as a kid (South Jersey, Rochester, NY, and Pine Point, ME). However, from 7-12 grade, I finally made a home in the small community of Williamson, New York near Lake Ontario. Spending my teen years living in a small, apple-farming community, I learned that people are generally good. I believe wholeheartedly in the golden rule. I value honesty, loyalty, creativity, healthy living and Zen. My favorite feeling is that of accomplishment after a job well-done, when all the stress pays off. I am guided by a strong internal sense of morality and ethics that I apply to every area of my life, including my career.
In 2012, I went to West Virginia University. After four years there, I graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology as well as a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in history. I am currently located in the Sarasota-Bradenton area in Florida.
I have skills in multimedia, video editing, kinetic typography, map/data journalism, writing, editing, AP style, interviewing, research, some photo editing, website creation, podcast & radio, audio editing, programs and software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Windows Office Suite, Audacity and more. I have some experience in design, marketing and teaching. For more information, you can view my resume.
I currently work at PropLogix as a property analyst during the day. I also teach English as a Second Language at night on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My hobbies include playing guitar, writing music, and the outdoors: hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, and fossil hunting! I also spend time on my well-being through meditation and healthy coping. Lately, I’ve been busy planning my wedding for June 2019! It’s a very exciting time.
